The map at right shows the areas of the valley for which Shallow Gas lease applications have been submitted. Most of these leases have already been approved and issued by the Division of Oil and Gas. All property within the leased blocks is included, both public and private.

Note that the pattern of lease applications roughly coincides with the areas of the valley with the highest concentration of private residential property.
